Mumbai: Queen of controversies Veena Malik is very upset because of the
sudden shut down of Hindi entertainment channel Imagine TV.
Veena was approached for 'Swayamwar season 4-Veena Ka Vivah' by the channel but before she could participate in it, Imagine announced its closure due to its low TRP.
Veena's manager said that the channel did not inform them about the closure but the actress is aware about it and is also very disappointed.
The channel made an impressive start with shows like 'Ramayan', 'Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi', 'Say Shaava Shaava', 'Jasuben Jayantilaal Joshi Ki Joint Family', 'Kitni Mohobbat Hai', but in the later years it couldn't managed to get satisfactory TRPs.
The channel was launched in India on January 21, 2008 as NDTV Imagine, by the NDTV group in partnership with NBC Universal. In 2010, Turner acquired NDTV's stake in Imagine.
Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, Inc, on Thursday announced the decision to shut Imagine TV and Imagine Dil Se stating that the channels did not perform and grow in line with the expectations. Turner currently operates HBO, CNN, Cartoon Network, POGO, WB, TCM and Boomerang in India.
